First, be sure you check the network cable, reboot, and or know the wireless network is operating correctly and that the device is connected to it before making any changes. A feature available in Windows 10 is the network reset utility. This tool removes all network settings, including those responsible for blocking the device's access to the Internet, and sets them back to their original state. To use the network reset utility, follow the steps below:
- Open the settings menu and select "Network & Internet".
- At the very bottom of the page, click the "Network Reset" link.

- Once the process begins it will remove all network settings and reboot the computer.
- Log into the device once the process is finished.
- If using a wireless network, connect to the appropriate network SSID using the password. NOTE: A wired connection should work automatically upon reboot.

Resetting the network settings on a device connected to a wired or wireless network can fix it when it suddenly stops connecting to the Internet. Whether the issue is an actual setting, or some sort of malware blocking this communication, changing the settings back to their original state allows them to operate normally again.
